Evaluation of the Trophies

Picture of Moose For the majority of our hunting tours and for all the fishing tours, we use a universal system of price irrespective of the size of the animal taken. For example, the Red Stag areas provide excellent opportunity to take a stag with big antlers. Obviously, no hunters would prefer shooting smaller stags when they see bigger ones. We know that each of the hunting areas has a certain quantity of big trophy animals available. We do not book more hunters than the real availability of the hunting area. Our universal price for the animal doesn't count the size of the animal, quantity of points contrary to CIC scale. Although many hunters find this system easy and convenient to deal with, we are ready to consider the other system you prefer.

For either of the systems applied to the trophy taken, for some of the tours we offer a certain rebate if the animal is not taken. Our responsibility in such cases, we understand that the hunter is to be provided with an opportunity to shoot the main animal of the tour. Depending on shooting distance, sometimes some "miss" and/or "wound" fees could be used.

For about five years of our outdoor practice, we have developed friendship with professional hunters and guides who care as much about your enjoyment, safety, and comfort as we do. We accompany you to the exciting trips, but to be sure, not everyone who goes out hunting will get a game. Many factors can be responsible; bad weather, "miss" shots, and sometimes even bad luck. But that's what makes it a sport. There's always a chance of being unsuccessful. The following hunting tours are the expeditions that I have been to or my representatives have checked for our clients. We know there are strong and weak points in many areas, and this is the reason I suggest that we start with some of our camps, where the European Red Stag, Roe-deer, Mouflon, Fallow Deer, and Wild Boar are practically guaranteed trophies.

Picture of WoodsThe duration of each of the tours is individually specified for each of the cases. It consists of the time actually spent at the hunting camp (average 6 days) and 1-2 days in the city, after the tour is over and before your departure to the USA

In order to give you an idea of how our regular hunting/fishing tour looks like, I would like to describe in detail the hunt for European Red Stag. It is usually a 100% successful hunt. Since 1991 we haven't had a hunter who didn't take a stag in our hunting camps.

  1. Two months (two weeks is a minimal period) before the beginning of the tour we must have the list of the clients, their passport numbers, and the serial numbers of their rifles. We need this data to prepare a special police department guns permit to bring the guns and the ammo in/out of Russia/Ukraine.
  2. We send the invitation for the whole team to the Russian Embassy, where you should apply for Russian entry visas. Entering through Ukraine/Kiev to hunt in Ukraine will require a $152 fee paid for the issuing of visas at the airport. This procedure could be changed for the Ukraine, so you will have to check with the Ukrainian Consulate in your country.
  3. We pick up our clients at the airport and immediately leave for our hunting camp. It will take us about four hours altogether unless specially indicated. Picture of Cathedral
  4. Some of the clients bring their spouses along. Sometimes the ladies prefer to stay in St. Petersburg to tour for the whole time while their husbands are out hunting. A qualified guide accompanies them all the time from the morning till the evening return to the hotel.
  5. We arrive to our hunting lodge by the evening where the hunters can be taken out hunting right away. The following morning our guides are ready to take the clients to hunt again. They hunt twice a day from 5 o'clock in the morning till 10 o'clock. Then from 5:30 p.m. till it's dark. We can provide night vision scopes if needed. Thus we have six hunting days. After the Red Stag or any other trophy is taken, a local taxidermy expert will take care of the hide and the antlers by cleaning and dry salting them to make them ready for storage up to 10-15 days. The hunter takes his trophies back home with his luggage. We provide a complete set of veterinarian certificates, CITES papers for bringing the trophy into the hunter's home country. Most of the Stag, Fallow Deer, Mouflon, and Roe-Deer hunting will consist of still hunting and stalking. The stands are available for the wild boar hunts.
  6. Picture of DinnerAfter the hunt is over we can spend a day in a Yalta resort place in the Crimea (not included) or catch the direct flight to St. Petersburg. The four-star hotel in St. Petersburg is included in the tour price. The customers spend the rest of the day on a city tour, enjoying museums or shopping. Any special city tour will be organized upon request at no additional charge. The following day we take the clients to the airport for their flight. We accompany them until they clear Customs.
